All right, I gotta get this spec up to the top of Mount Nool A.S.A.P., whatever that means,
probably 'act swiftly, awesome pachyderm'! I mean, how hard can that be?

Growing like weeds!

Hi everybody! It's been a few months since I last blogged, and a few things have changed since then. Here are a few worth mentioning...

Josh is growing like a weed!! Whenever people ask us how old he is, they're shocked that he's not any older than he is. It's hard to believe he'll be 8 months old tomorrow!

Aside from getting bigger, Josh is now eating table food. He did really well with baby food, until we got to Stage 3. I don't think he even ate a single jar of the stuff! He hated it!! So our doctor said we could start trying new things. We started with chicken and mashed potatoes. The boy was in heaven! Since that day, he's eaten pretty much every kind of meat that Mom and Dad have eaten, including steak! The only thing we've tried that he hasn't liked is macaroni and cheese. Sorry, Aunt Janette, if you babysit you'll have to come up with a better menu or have Smitty cook!!! Teasing, of course.

Josh's shirts are constantly wet from drool. You'd think an entire mouth of teeth was starting to come through!! He does have four teeth already, two on top and two on bottom, which come in very handy when steak is on the menu!

We're not crawling yet, but anxious to. I'm not sure Mom and Dad are anxious because, unlike his sister when she was a baby (no baby proofing back then), Josh is a very curious little boy and will be into everything, we're sure!!! And if he gets his hands on something, it's bound to end up in his mouth!

Here's a picture of our little man, who Dad has nicknamed "Turbo", with one of his favorite toys from Christmas.

Emma, too, has decided to have a growth spurt. A few of her pairs of pants, which we had to hem up last spring and summer, are now high water pants. But that's okay...better up than out, right?? Emma loves Kindergarten and is doing really well. She recently participated in a cheer clinic and will be cheering during halftime of a Southeast Polk girls basketball game this Friday. It'll be fun, although 3 hours of practice 6 days before performing is not enough for a bunch of little girls to learn not only a cheer, but also a dance routine!! Don't they realize that 5-6 year olds naturally all have ADD!!??? Okay, bad joke, but seriously...it's like the little kid picking flowers in center field, but this is 50+ little girls doing it! It will be interesting, I'm sure!!

February 5th will be a special day for Emma. She and Daddy get to go on a date! SEP is holding a Father-Daughter dance. Emma will get her hair, makeup and nails done that afternoon, and she's so excited for that and that she will get to wear a pretty princess dress and Daddy will be in a shirt and tie! I guess Josh and I will have to have a Mother-Son date night too. Where do you take a (will be) 9 month old on a date?

Here is Emma with her Rapunzel doll that Santa brought her!

Well, that's it for now. Happy blogging everybody!

Kindergarten, A Loose Tooth, Baby Food and Rolling Over

Well, so far this month we've had our first homecoming week as a SE Polk Ram, a loose tooth, our first experience with baby food, and our first time of rolling over when a witness is present!!

Emma loves kindergarten. This past week was Homecoming, so she got to dress up for a theme each day. Emma loved Monday, in particular, because she got to get up, change out of her pajamas, and put on a clean pair of pajamas to go to school! She thought that was a riot.

We're also experiencing our very first loose tooth. We were at our friends' house a couple of weeks ago for supper and game night. She came out screaming bloody murder because she bit down, it hurt, and all of a sudden there was blood in her mouth! Yep, a loose tooth. It hasn't come out yet, and she thinks it's pretty cool to wiggle it with her tongue. And she thinks the Tooth Fairy (aka The Rock) will be bringing her money and either a toy or a movie. Yeah right, I think I got a quarter when I was a kid!!!

I can't believe in a week Joshua will be 5 months old. He's growing like a weed! At his 4-month appointment the doctor said he is the size of a 6-month old. Guess I don't have to question whether he's eating enough!!! Because he was eating 8 oz of formula and STILL HUNGRY, we decided it was time for baby food. So far he likes carrots, sweet potatoes, and is devouring green beans!

This weekend was the first time we ever witnessed Josh rolling over on his own. We know he's been doing it in his crib at daycare because Michelle puts him on his back and he usually ends up on his belly! This weekend he did it right in front of us...we put him on his back on the living room floor and put a toy off to the side. Three times in a row he rolled from his back to his belly. Guess we're soon going to have to start baby proofing!!!

The year is going so fast. I'll try to post pictures of Halloween. Emma is going as a medieval princess and hopefully Josh will fit into the costume Emma wore for her first Halloween...a duck!

Here's the latest pictures of the kids...enjoy!
